Albert Lin

Professor of Law, UC Davis

Albert Lin is a professor at the UC Davis School of Law, where he specializes in environmental and natural resources law.  His research interests include toxic torts, public nuisance, and the governance of geoengineering and other emerging technologies.  Lin served on a National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine committee that authored the consensus report, Reflecting Sunlight: Recommendations for Solar Geoengineering Research and Research Governance (2021).  Prior to entering academia, Lin was a trial attorney for the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and clerked for Judge James Browning of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and then-Judge Merrick Garland of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.  Lin received his J.D. from the UC Berkeley School of Law and an M.P.P. from the Kennedy School of Government.
